–HERO CAROUSEL START– Explore Lake Tahoe — HERO CAROUSEL END– –SIDE BY SIDE START– Tour Details The Lake Tahoe Tour bases out of the stunning alpine lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, primarily straddling the border of California and Nevada. The lake is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery and sites such as Emerald Bay, Olympic Valley and Heavenly Valley. The Sierra Nevada region is crisscrossed by scenic byways and roads, providing stunning drive opportunities. The Lake Tahoe Scenic Drive, Highway 89, and the Lake Tahoe Loop are among the more popular routes we plan to explore. We expect this to be one of the most beautiful tours we’ve ever conducted, a diverse range of natural environment and experiences in a stunning natural setting. $18,500/person, based on double occupancy $21,500/person, based on single occupancy *single occupancy shares a vehicle at all times with another single registrant –SIDE BY SIDE END– –CONTENT START– Registration opens February 17, 2025 Contact us for more details or to be notified when registration opens. –CONTENT END– –CAROUSEL START– Day 1 Arrival and Welcome Reception: Upon your arrival in Sacramento, you’ll be met by private car service for the short ride from the airport to the Kimpton-Sawyer Hotel, a chic and cosmopolitan hotel at the edge of the Historic Old Sacramento Riverfront District. After settling in, get ready to meet our staff and your fellow travelers at registration and later at our reception and welcome dinner. Day 2 Lake Tahoe, CA/Stateline, NV Following a Rules of the Road briefing, an overview of the tour and introduction to our fleet of Carrera models, we’ll start our drive and head East! Leaving metro Sacramento across the rich agricultural lands that make up the San Juaquin Valley, we’ll vector to the foothills of the Sierras with a stop at Sutters Creek, site of the discovery of California Gold in 1848. We continue our drive along the aptly named Hwy 49 and take a less traveled and very twisty highway (26) through Calaveras County. Among the amazing sights, we follow Carson Pass Highway (88) to the Kirkwood Inn and Saloon for lunch. After lunch we start to climb in elevation and end our first day of driving at the Edgewood Resort in Stateline Nevada on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Day 3 Lake Tahoe, CA/Stateline, NV Our second day of driving leads us up the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. As we approach Incline Village, we turn eastward and take Mount Rose Highway toward the ski resorts before we descend into Washoe Valley, still in Nevada. We then drive further east toward Virginia City, Nevada, site of huge silver deposits resulting in another precious metal boom in the 1800s. After a planned lunch stop and walk around the historic Main Street, we’ll work our way westward. Our route will follow the less traveled Six Mile Canyon Road then westward toward Nevada’s capitol, Carson City. We will then pass through historic Jacks Valley and continue to the Edgewood Resort going up the very scenic and rarely driven Kingsbury Grade. Day 4 Lake Tahoe, CA/Stateline, NV Our third driving day will explore the roads and wonders around Lake Tahoe. Our planned drive is a lap around the lake viewing Emerald Bay, and a stop at Olympic Village, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. We will also stop at historic Donner Pass before turning back toward Lake Tahoe and traveling southward along the eastern shore of the lake. After lunch at the Edgewood Resort, we will offer an optional afternoon drive, a trip to the top of Heavenly Valley or an afternoon of relaxation at the resort. Your choice! Day 5 Truckee, CA On drive day 4 we’ll journey north from our base in South Lake Tahoe to the beautiful Sierra Mountains. Traveling on highway 49 we’ll go back in time to the gold rush era and the small mining towns once booming with prospectors. Beautiful mountain passes, lakes, river valleys and meadows await us as we explore this most scenic part of the tour. Expect endless natural beauty in this area. It looks not-far removed from the era of Native Americans and European settlers. Day 6 Sacramento, CA Today our journey will leave Truckee and NorthStar ski area and head back to Sacramento. The trip will continue through the mountains of the North Sierra and Yuba River valley as we work our way through Downieville, Sierra City, Nevada City, Grassville and Auburn. These were once boom towns in the mid 1850’s and are now thriving as outdoor recreational hubs and peaceful retreats from the big cities. We’ll see many conifer and aspen forests as we parallel the Yuba River with gorgeous views of surrounding mountains and open meadows. Day 7 Program Concludes: Shuttles to Sacramento International Airport (Depart from SAC) We’ll be sorry to see our time in the Sierra Nevadas come to an end. You will have captured new memories, made new friends, and likely developed a whole new appreciation of this part of the country. It’s not one particular element of the trip, rather it was the seamless way the entire trip was organized and executed from start to finish. This allowed us to enjoy the people, cars and scenery without a care in the world.
